Tekfen – who believes that the increase of educated and conscious women farmers is an important pillar for a sustainable society, local development and family economy, and for ensuring the active participation of women in working life – reaches out to 80 women farmers in the Aegean region of Turkey, where this programme is piloted. Tekfen and TISVA join forces to launch this project. The goal of the project is to support women, who desire to work in agriculture but do not have the financial means, to establish their own small agricultural enterprises with microfinance support and to operate their enterprises in a sustainable manner. In addition to providing credit loans, the project also provides basic agricultural training and technical consultancy services.
